MSI 785GT-E63--CPU Support

I recently purchased the MSI-785GT-E63 MB. The cpu support list on their website does not list my AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+. This is a processor I removed from and old box. I didn't want to buy a new one right now. The list includes the 4200+ but not the 4000+. Anyone know?

^ Well the only difference is the clock speed...both have the same cores - Brisbane...So I dont see any reasons why it shouldnt work...Did you try it ??

Not yet. I ordered the board from NewEgg, then just happened to look at the cpu support page. I assumed it would work since it was a Brisbane and the only difference was clock speed. Thanks for confirming my hopes.

^ Well I wouldnt say that it would work 100% also because the companies are the one that provide the BIOS support for the listed CPUs...So it might be that the BIOS wont recognize the CPU...But its worth a try though...
