Hi,
I've got the advise, from DLINK, to upgrade the BIOS on my laptop, to
get my WLAN work correct. Present version is 8.20 and I think there is
a 8.60 version available. The problem is that I only have a
USB-diskette-drive and I don't manage to boot from this. Is it
possible?
Is there anyway to upgrade the BIOS without buying a new
diskette-drive? How?

Hi Martin,
Let the installer make the boot disk. Once you have done that, go into
a program EasyCreator, And make a bootable CD based on the boot floppy
you just created. Boot from the CD (it will be read as the 'A' drive)
and you should be set. I do this on both of my HP with no problem.

IIRC that model has no built-in floppy drive or optical drive. They both
resided in an "enhanced port replicator" that was an extra cost option.
The OP either needs the port replicator or a Toshiba external floppy drive
(non-usb) that plugs into a port on the computer itself.
