Running ATI with Intel

Are there issues with running an ATI GPU with an Intel CPU and Mobo with an nVidia chipset?

My current setup is as follows:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.67 Ghz E6750
Mobo: Asus Striker Extreme
GPU: (2) nVidia Geforce 7600 GT in SLI

I would like to swap out the 2 nVidia cards for a single Radeon HD 5770. I know that nVidia and Intel are friendly and AMD and ATI are friendly, but I'm wondering if there are issues with running AIT cards in Intel based machines.

  3. you will be fine

Ive run intel with ATI, AMD with Nvidia, its all good
  4. You probably won't be able to crossfire
  5. yeah, I knew I wouldn't be able to use crossfire. I was more wondering about backdoor throttling of the GPU by the CPU. I wouldn't put it past Intel to pull some crap like that.

why would they do that? They want to sell CPU to ATI and Nvidia fanboys.

You need to look up some quotes from the Nvidia Ceo about Intel, not exactly friendly talk.

    AMD actually owns ATI.
