Upgrading to a wireless N router

Hello,

I've had a cheap, old wireless g router for a while now that still works really well. The majority of my devices are g so my question is would g devices still benefit from the range boost of a N router. For instance would my xbox which has a wireless g connection see a boost in range if i were to upgrade? Also is there is significant difference in range when using a dual band n router versus a non dual band? Thanks

If it ain't broke don't fix it. The gains when all your other gear is g will be little or nothing. I'd wait until something breaks or you upgrade one of the connected devices to n.

Yeah thats true. Well thank you for the clarification. I'll probably hold off for a little while although I might upgrade for the gigabit ethernet ports sooner rather than later
