  1. You aren't going to get any games looking too good on that system.

If all you have are pci 1x slots then you'll need a new motherboard with pcie 16x slot(s).

Do you know the model name of your motherboard? I can't remember if dxdiag shows it or not but CPU-Z (google it) will.
  2. mmm is this it

  3. Looks like your mobo does have a pcix16 slot.

    I recommend the Radeon 5770:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102873&cm_re=5770-_-14-102-873-_-Product

Anything more, and you would have to pay about $300. There is not a good performing card between the 5770 and 5850 (the 5830 is, but its not worth its price).

Plus, I wouldn't do anything more with a 2.2ghz dual core. Can you overclock it?
  4. were would the pcix 16 slot be and dont even know what overlock is and how to do it
  5. also sorry for double posting, whne i do get anew graphics card, will this computer with that radeon 5770, will it be able to paly msot of todays games with decent performance and fps and stuff? also, do i do anything with my chipset graphics card, or sjut plug in the new one and install and stuff?
also, found the pcie x16 slot

umm, some sites are saying that the 5770 radeon card takes 2 slots, but i only have 1 pcie x16 and pcie_x1_2 ,pcie_x1_1
  6. The 5770 only takes one slot. It does, however, hang over a second slot because the size of its cooler is double wide (like most graphics cards). And yes, the 5770 is a killer card. It can play just about anything (except crysis on max with 8xaa), at your resolution. It will be about a thousand times better than your intel graphics chip. What I'd be worried about is whether or not your CPU is fast enough. It might start to bottleneck a 5770 in some games.

There are some really good guides out there for installing the card, just google it.

  7. mm well, i figure my computer is crap soo, is i got http://www1.ca.dell.com/ca/en/home/desktops/alienware-area-51/pd.aspx?refid=alienware-area-51&s=dhs&cs=cadhs1

would i need to upgrade anything or just turn on and play?

also, would it be enough for most games for a few years?
