Need graphics card help fast plz!

allright i opened up my computer and i saw 2 slots that say pcie_x1_2 and pcie_x1_1

. my graphics card is intel g33/g31 express chipset family.

i was wondering if i could get a graphics card that about 200-250$, good performance and can play most of todays games, like AVp l4d2, fallout3, bioshock2 , metro 2033, cod4 and so on. if not would i prolly have to by a new computer? :(

any help is appriciated, i really wanna play some new games, xbox is boreing and games look much better on PC.

You aren't going to get any games looking too good on that system.

If all you have are pci 1x slots then you'll need a new motherboard with pcie 16x slot(s).

Do you know the model name of your motherboard? I can't remember if dxdiag shows it or not but CPU-Z (google it) will.

also sorry for double posting, whne i do get anew graphics card, will this computer with that radeon 5770, will it be able to paly msot of todays games with decent performance and fps and stuff? also, do i do anything with my chipset graphics card, or sjut plug in the new one and install and stuff?
also, found the pcie x16 slot

umm, some sites are saying that the 5770 radeon card takes 2 slots, but i only have 1 pcie x16 and pcie_x1_2 ,pcie_x1_1

The 5770 only takes one slot. It does, however, hang over a second slot because the size of its cooler is double wide (like most graphics cards). And yes, the 5770 is a killer card. It can play just about anything (except crysis on max with 8xaa), at your resolution. It will be about a thousand times better than your intel graphics chip. What I'd be worried about is whether or not your CPU is fast enough. It might start to bottleneck a 5770 in some games.

There are some really good guides out there for installing the card, just google it.
