These are the parts I have come up with:

MOBO + CPU - Giga 890GPA-UD3H with AMD X4 955

GPU - PowerColor 5850

HDD - Seagate 7200.12 1TB

RAM - Kingston 12800/1600 CL9

PSU - Seasonic M12II-520W

Case - CoolerMaster HAF 922

OS - Windows Home Premium 7

For AutoCAD 2D, I'd lean Nvidia 470.....ATI never was strong in AutoCAD but performance was abysmal up until 10.4 drivers. Not heard much since the new drivers were released. I generally build / recommend 1366 based systems for AutoCAD ....but that's a $1,400 + system.

MoBo / GFX / DVD Burner Combo $515
ASUS P7P55D-E Pro LGA 1156 Intel P55 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0
ASUS ENGTX470/2DI/1280MD5 GeForce GTX 470
