power mac g4 "quicksilver". specs:
delta psu, g4 733mhz cpu, 1.5gb ram, 40gb seagate, and a very noisy psu fan :) the psu fan is blowing out cold air, even after being on for an hour, but it blows LOTSA air even though it doesnt need to. so i want to remove the psu (if i can figure out how and i find my allen wrnches), and put in a quieter fan. possible? would it even be ok or would it overheat?

Holy *** that was a long link

It seems that the only fan in the unit is the PSU fan, well placed in front of the CPU. Wow... lol.

Anyway, I don't see an issue as long as the new PSU has the same CFM rating.

Or wait, you mean put a new fan in the PSU. Well, just get one that has the same CFM rating. Or get the best CFM with the highest noise you can stand and find out by changing it. Best way to know something, is to try.

yeah i know but occassionly i come across something i need a mac for.

and no im not an apple fanboy. and no i dont like macs.

So why can't you use a virtualmanager? I've got OSX taking about 5GB on my hard drive and when I want it, I run virtualbox assigning it 1GB of ram and two CPU cores.
