How long before this is concidered an average PC?
How well will it play crysis with only 2.0ghz?
How many vms can it host while playing crysis?
If you had the money to build this pc would you?

lol wtf 2.0GHz u kidin me that cpu would get owned by an i7 920 at stock speeds. overclocked and there wouldnt be anything left

Well lets see. An overpriced board for a server CPU that cannot be overclocked that will run games like a piece of sh#t, too much RAM that won't ever get used because by the time 16 GB is relevant, that RAM will be extremely slow. The SSD is overpriced and once again not worth the hassle or lose of any real strorage (about 240GB after OS). The GPU is just stupid. The 5970 is overpriced to begin with, but the extra RAM is proved to do absolutely nothing, and is only $300 more!!!

If im using sever hardware, im going for real power that i would used to fullest. (folding@home  )

And with 2 pci-e 2.0 x16 slots, I could add gpus to the mix (maybe for future gtx 495's or what ever folds the best) :D

Thats real power :kaola: (if i had the money that is :( )

Back to the questions.....

How soon will it be average hardware?
Motherboard : isn't it already average? Other than extra dimm solts due to quad channel memory, there nothing else special about it compared to other MB's

Cpu: Kinda already average. Yeah higher core count but slower speed...... So it will really depend on what your running, For crysis, this would be a down grade. For how long would it be before a cpu with a high enough IPC speed to run crysis at 2.0 GHz very well? LONG TIME.

Ram: 16GB for an affordable price and would be average amount need for a system, i would give is about 5 to 10 years.

SSD: you need 4? 1 just fine even for the future.

Sound card: whatz that ? :D ......

Graphics: hmm... giving it at most 2-3 years before the HD5970 performance is equivalent in a mid range graphic performance but a 4 GB card would be around for a long while. 6 years maybe?

Would i pay for what you want? no.

Overclocked Thuban would out perform that processor even in multithreaded software and I couldn't even imagine needing that much ram on the desktop right now. I have to admit if I had the money, I would build a nice workstation but use dual cpu's for either 16/24 cores.

Ontario is the low end low power fusion part, theres no way it'll even match current Athlon II X4 on performance. lol

Problem is that the fusion chips are based on the original Phenom core still, while Bulldozer will be a completely new architecture built from the ground up. Performance of Ontario and Llano will have no indication of how Bulldozer will perform.

+1, the first fusions will bebased on K10 and not bulldozer so they will pretty much have the exact same performance as the current generations, im just anctious to see those TDPS

well it would give you bragging rights, but for games I would go x6. or i7,not a game made that would have me spending thsy kind of chedder. A ps3 and my system together cost less than 1300$,and I'm quite happy with them for games. Your money though.

AMD is bringing Ontario (Atom competitor for netbooks) forward and delaying Llano (desktop fusion CPU) because Ontario will be made on TSMC's 40nm process, whereas Llano (and BD) will be made on GF's 32nm process which currently has yield problems. If GF doesn't get those yields up in the next 6 months or so, that could push BD back to 2H of next year or further.
