Best for gaming, 4GB CL7 or 6GB CL9

Hello, I'm considering building a new pc for gaming, so was wondering what would be best?

4GB RAM with CL7 or 6GB RAM with CL9

For me it will cost about the same.

You're better off with the 4 GB.

CL+Speed+CPU type. For you, theres no reason to get 6 GB.

Well 6 GB "would" fit, it just wouldnt be triple channel

i5 750 is dual channel. Certainly you can slap in random memory but it wouldn't be ideal, that's what I was getting at.

And certainly you can buy 2x2gb and 2x1gb but who does that?

Well if it's 3 sticks of 2 GB, 2 of the sticks would run in standard dual channel, and the remaining 2 GB stick would be just bonus 2 GB of single channel.

But as far as the bang for buck, as we already decided, 4 GB of CAS 7 latency wins.
