First Time Building (NEED HELP) 850$ BUDGET

Hi, I'm looking for a computer that could run WoW on high details preferably, main purpose is for gaming although I would like to multitask and watch movies of course, my budget is 850$ with a screen if possible. I have a website that I could get parts off of. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you! I don't really know what I'm doing so please, ask me questions if you must!

  1. Hi and welcome to the forum! I'm somewhat new myself but I've done a good deal of browsing the forum here. As far as I know, WoW isn't all that demanding, and you should be able to get something within that budget.

As far as parts go, it's rather late here so I'll send you in the direction of a similar thread:

Unfortunately I'm not all that knowledgeable when it comes to monitors as I've not been looking for one, but I'm sure someone wiser and better versed will be by to help out as folks are really helpful here.
  2. I Just bought the following from newegg for 840. 810 after I send in my rebates :)

    CASE ANTEC|THREE HUNDRED ILLUSION R
    MB GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD3 P55 R
    VGA XFX|HD-577X-ZNFC HD5770 R
    PSU CORSAIR|CMPSU-650TX 650W RT
    CPU INTEL|CORE I5 750 2.66G R
    MEM 2Gx2|GSK F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ R
    HD 750|WD 7K 32M SATA2 WD7501AALS
    DVD BURNER LITE-ON | IHAS224-06

Sorry about the names. Just search the model numbers. I was to lazy and just copied this from the invoice. I play wow as well and with max settings I still get max fps :)
  3. Fill out the form in my sig.

Is the $850 US or CA?

For the budget you're better off with an AMD build. You'll probably be able to squeeze in a 5850 which is a huge FPS boost over a 5770.
