Hi,
I'm looking forward to build my new computer to not only save some money in the process but also acquire a great deal of experience in that domain so when I'll need to switch a component, I will be able to do it myself.
So I've shopped online, looked at the builds people were asking about here and also met plenty of vendors at my local computer store (aka Microbytes). I've come up with this:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: End of June, early July BUDGET RANGE: 900 $ max (should include shipping and taxes)
SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, surfing internet
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Mouse, Monitor, OS
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg.CA and Microbytes for some (http://www.microbytes.com/computer/ordinateur/index.php)
PARTS PREFERENCES:AMD and ASUS
OVERCLOCKING: Maybe but with the minimum of risk. SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Probably not
MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1440 x 900 (19''), I guess I will eventually upgrade to a higher resolution
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Quiet, not much of a war machine but future proof so that I don't need to change most of the component next year.
MY BUILD SO FAR:
AMD PHENOM II X4 945

ASUS M4A 77TD

373,62 $ (after GST/HST and QST)
TOTAL : something like 850 $
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really want to buy some sensitive components at my local store so that I don't have to ship them back in case of DOA or other problems (Mobo for example). I don't really need my computer to be able to run Crysis at Ultra with 4xAA and max res. I just want a «Best bang for the bucks» computer that will allow me to run (with good graphics though) COD6, SC2 and my other bunch of games that I already own.
I'm sorry if I made some really stupid english mistakes... It's not really my cup of tea. And I know that Microbytes ' website sucks.
