What's good these days? I'm curious because I'm one of those people who got duped into getting the GTS 250 from Nvidia and I wanted to know how good or bad it is. My score was 6528 and I couldn't find anything realistic to compare it to. The only score listed on Futuremark's upload page was the fastest, which is meaningless since I'm not trying to compete with the absolute best system.

My CPU score was 35095 so I know it's solid, I just don't know how my GPU stacks up with the rest of the DX10 cards out now.

Can't you use the 'compare' in Futuremark?

Also, your CPU is extremely exaggerated by the PhysX capability of that card. If you disable GPU PhysX, it will go down to a more realistic #.

Here's mine (not a fair comparison at all). Unfortunately I don't have my 4850 scores handy for a better comparo.

System Specs:

Intel Core i5 750 3.6GHz > Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4P - F8 BIOS > 2x2GB GSkill 1600 @ 1440 7-7-7-21 1T 1.5V > Spinpoint F3 1TB >
Antec 300 Illusion > Sapphire 5850 850/1250 1GB 1.125V - Cat. 10.3a > Corsair 650HX > CM Hyper 212+ > Win7 64 > LCD: XL2370 23"

Results:

3DMark06:
21740

SM2.0: 8801
HDR/SM3.0: 10548
CPU: 5527

Vantage:
P16778

GPU: 16920
CPU: 16369

As EXT64 said - disable PhysX or your score isn't "real" and it'll be difficult to even use the compare feature on FM's website. There's absolutely no way, short of a 980x, that a CPU score is 35,000 unless you have PhysX. I really wish FM would freaking remove that feature as it does nothing to reflect real-world anything.

The GTS250 is really just a 9800GTX+ rebadged so you're not going to get anything better than that range (or around an HD4850). An HD5750, on an identical system, will beat it all day, not to mention an HD4870 which can probably be found on eBay for $100 - that will trounce it.

I've got a spreadsheet of 124 PCs I've built and their 06 scores, along with several Vantage scores, but I don't have anything with greater than a 9800GT since that's when I stopped buying nV or even recommending them to anyone. I can make an educated guess based on the 9800GT scores and the 4850, but that's as close as I can come. Also, you didn't mention your CPU, memory or Hard Drive as Vantage can also be influenced by an SSD (slightly, but my CPU score went up over 1,000 by simply upgrading to an SSD, which I don't believe it should have).

I have an i7 920 OC'd to 3.66GHz, 12Gb memory, and a 5870 with a 160Gb Intel G2 SSD

3dMark06
23899, CPU=6665, 2.0=9370, 3.0=11293

Vantage
P18809
GPU:17738
CPU:22997

So, yeah, your CPU score is solid - solidly exaggerated. Well, then again, you didn't mention your CPU. If you have a 980X oc'd to around 4.2, then I might believe 35,000. ;-)

Ok, my computer is as follows: Geforce GTS 250 (which I know is really just a 9800GTX+, that's why I say I got duped), Intel Q9550 C2Q oc'd to 3.2, 7200RPM HDD (not SSD), Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P mobo, 4GB DDR2 RAM @ 904mhz

and how do you create a link for a picture? I have the screenshot, I just don't know how to link to it.

And I'll be retesting my CPU with PhysX off, ultimately creating another screenshot.
