I play City of Heroes and when I bought this pc I could find little on the Intel GMA X4500 integrated GPU. I did find that a posting that stated it would run World of Warcraft just fine. I figured the requirements for both games were similar so it should be fine. I did up the memory in the BIOS to the maximum setting but it still flickers when I am play CoH.

I have read other posts here that state that the HD4650 Pcie 512MB DDR2 Dvi-i /hdmi 128BIT Low Profile by SAPPHIRE runs well in the pci-e slot.

My question is if I were to up the power supply from the 220 watt that it comes with to a 300 watt would the GMA X4500 be able to perform better?

If yes is there a 300 watt power supply that will fit in the same space (3.25" wide x 2.25" tall x 6" deep)?

The GMA X4500 performance will be exactly the same. Changing PSUs will have no effect.

I did find a 300W SFF PSU FSP Group FSP300-60GHT 300W TFX12V The size is 3.35" x 2.76" x 6.89". How accurate were your measurements?
It might be a good idea to cruise the Gateway forums and see what other SX2800-01 owners are doing for upgrades.

I got the measurements by search the gateway replacement parts site. So they should be accurate.

That is a great idea! Thanks

Thanks shadow187
It is good to know that someone has tested it out. How long have you been running the HD4650? I've seen a few posts of people saying that after 6 months or so they had to replace the card is why I ask.

I got my 4650 yesterday and the install was simple enough. I went into CoH and the graphics look really good. I'll be gaming some tonight and this weekend. I have noticed that the fan picks up when I am in the game. The top of the case was warm after an hour yesterday. But it did cool back down pretty quick. I'll be interested to see how it does this weekend.
