When I click on the D drive, it asks me if I want to format the drive. Disk management says its a clean slate but its supposedly packed with music & video. I have downloaded the ses driver. What gives?

What version of XP are you using? I recall seeing a thread a while back stating XP wouldn't recognize their Terabyte drive.

Service pack two..... What a drag if that's the case. I did just get to check on another computer with win7 and all the data (movies and music) is definitely on the drive.

You need to partition the external hdd to volumes not more than 320 gb for XP to read them. Also, the WD Mybook utilizes sata connection within the casing so it moght be that you will need sata drivers for XP (I think you need XP SP3 for them to work). You will also need a USB 2.0 port.
