Recommended HDD?

Hey guys, im building a new gaming computer and im having trouble deciding in a hard drive. I was initially thinking of a 1TB drive, but im not sure if i need that much. i play a lot of games and have a good amount of music, plus i program so i need some space for compiling and saving projects. can anyone recommend a good size to me, and if you know any good models give me a link? thanks a bunch!
