I'll try to be quick and to the point.

I've recently bought:

This >> Processor

And

This >> Motherboard

And I've also gotten 2 256GB SSD Hd's

now I'm onto the RAM and this is where my knowledge falls short..

I'm open to advice but i'm looking between to kinds.. (PLEASE list a better option if there is one) "$money no option"

Which of these is better?
$399.00 9-11-9-28 <<----- whats this mean?
G.SKILL Ripjaws X + Turbulence II Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-17000CL9Q-16GBXLD DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Timing 9-11-9-28 Cas Latency 9

or

$489.00 9-9-9-24 <--- is this better then above?
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 24GB (6 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory with DHX Pro Connector and Airflow II Fan Model CMP24GX3M6A1600C9 DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Timing 9-9-9-24 Cas Latency 9

I also saw these! Not sure if these are even better but there cheaper .. lol
Corsair Ram

I just don't understand which is best.. also I'm not sure if i'll be Overclocking i don't think i'll have too..

I plan on using this system for HIGH end gaming and also some high quality Video / picture editing.

my Graphics card will either be the best Nvidia or ATI card also.. x2 in SLI mode possibly.

so please.. help! :/

I'm really confortable putting things together fixing and repairing pc's but i'm just unsure when it comes to high quality SPEED ram.

thanks guys! remember i'm looking for abosolute speed... 3 sticks 8gb+

Welcome to Tom's Forum! :)

The i7 980X and ASUS Sabertooth X58 are NOT good matches, the Sabertooth is 8+2+2 phase and the better alternative is, in keeping with ASUS, the ASUS Rampage III Extreme with 8+3+3+3 phase. The R3E is designed to be OC.

Next, you only want Tri/Hexa Channel RAM kits, and RAM >= 2000MHz generally requires a BCLK >= 160.

The GTX 5XX series in SLI is your best bet, the 5XX series have improved efficiency {less power/cooler temps} and improved performance.

Q - What SSD drives? Did you look at the RevoDrives ?

RAM suggestions:
$205 CORSAIR DOMINATOR 12GB (3 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145321
$490 CORSAIR DOMINATOR 24GB (6 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 CMP24GX3M6A1600C9 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145338
$350 CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 12GB (3 x 4GB) DDR3 2000CMT12GX3M3A2000C9 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145329

Yes, the CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 can be placed together/per set the 24GB kit is the 'Bentley' as being fully matched. However, 24 GB will only be a benefit if your doing extensive and Pro grade rendering -- then you need to think about going the Xeon route vs the non-ECC i7 9XX.

this is all good info! so if i return this sabertooth motherboard and get the one you recommend ... with 8-3-3 then which is the best ram for this mother board..

I really like the "$490 CORSAIR DOMINATOR 24GB (6 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 CMP24GX3M6A1600C9"here

Oh, and i won't be doing professional video editing.. just some HD camera stuff for small films for school and things of a personal nature. i'm more interested in having this be faster for gaming tho lol.

If i wait 1 min or 5 mins for a video to decompress i could care less.. I'm looking for max speed & the best graphics. (at high resolutions for my 32 inch monitor - DVI) I also play competitively on the side for $$$ need a great machine.

The CMP24GX3M6A1600C9 kit is very good, though 24GB is overkill for what you've described and I'd start with 12GB {3X4GB}. As I recall you'll need to Disable Memory Protection in the BIOS for the 24GB to be available.

If you're using Adobe Premiere extensively then take a look here -> http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/systemreqs/ note the GTX 470; I assume that other GPUs will be added 'sometime' but I've been keeping an eye on the pages with no changes. For long video encoding you'll be waiting a much longer time than 5 minutes.

Gaming's worst enemy is latency. Having a Gaming & Rendering rig in the extreme is the realm of the SR-2.
