More about power consumption
  1. you should be OK. cooler master does have a lot of bad PSU and would not be my first choice of a PSU brand. since you already own the PSU, i would use it and just keep an eye on it.
  2. Use coolermaster power calculator. Its very easy and it gives the PSU capacity you need.

Corsair, Antec, and other PSU vendor have similar tool.

Thanks for the reply,I would also like to know which other psu are considered best ,I was also considering changing my psu from coolarmaster gx 550w to coolarmaster to a GX 650w ,should it be considered .

i would personally avoid cooler master and go with a PSU from antec, corsair, seasonic, or xfx. a 550w+ unit from them will do the trick.
  6. Old list, but very good starting point:

Also an excellent source, just plug in the psu and see if jonnyguru as done an eval:

  7. Thanks, that was a good link.
  8. I have narrowed down to a corsair HX 620w or a corsair HX 650w for my current requirnement and possible small future upgrade,Are they good PSU's I am also considering a APC ups of 1100va/660w for the both the above models will it do the job, my max load will be around 75 % on either of the psu's.Thanks.
  9. Extract from: http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/power_supply/corsair_hx650w_650w_atx_psu/5
    The Good
    - Stable voltages across all rails
    - Reasonably high efficiency with an average of around 86%
    - Great looks and tasty modular cables
    - Excellent ripple suppression
    - Max output around 720w
    - All Japanese caps.
    - 7yr warranty!

    The Mediocre
    - Not quite as efficient or stable as the HX750w or HX850w
    - Didn't like one of the cross-load tests (but as I've said already 3 times, its not likely to be reproduced in real world)

    The Bad
    - Nothing.

As to the UPS, Yes should do the job.
