What's better?

2.93GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, or 3.60GHz Intel Core i5? I'm thinking of getting an iMac but I have no idea what would give me the better performance, game wise and general-wise.

More about what better
  1. It depends on the specific game and programs being used. i5 will be faster in some and i7 faster in others.

    Benchmark results showing i5 670 3.46Ghz vs i7 870 2.93Ghz (i5 680 not available for the chart)

(you could always get the i7 860 and overclock it to 3.8Ghz and not have to worry about 'what's better')

Dude, he said he wanted an imac
  3. I thought he was comparing an iMac with a real computer.
  4. One way is just get a PC. lol.

For an iMac, even the 2.93Ghz i3 should work fine for general workloads.
