Reusing parts from my dell dimension 9200.

These are the parts I have kept and want to use in a new build: Q6600 (B3), 8800GTX (768), hynix 1gb x4 pc2-5300U (667Mhz 5-5-5-12),

Never built a PC or overclocked before.

I need help choosing:

opt 1) cheap/value for money, new parts to complete the build.
opt 2) cheap/value for money, new parts to complete an overclockable build
(3Ghz is fine for me).

Thanks.

I'm just going to point out the obvious. The Core 2 series of CPUs is dead. It's a waste of money to spend anything more using the LGA775 socket or DDR2. I would recommend selling the parts for whatever you can get and putting it all towards a new build.

If you've got as little as $500, you can get a good, current build. If you've got $600-650, you can get a very future proof build.

I have considered moving to a next gen socket, but from what i've read a q6600 is powerfull enough for my needs (mass effect 1,2, gears of war, sins of a solar empire)
and will not bottleneck a 1x gpu solution for at least a year.

I am looking for a cheap mother board that can run a single 8800gtx (I may ugrade gpu to 5770 or 5870 in 4 months or so)

Are these any good?
ASUS P5G41-M LE/CSM LGA 775 Intel G41 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L G31 S775 DDR2-1066

Opt 1 - no overclocking

Rosewill TU-155 II w/ 500W Power Supply (would the 8800gtx (768mb) fit inside?)
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus 120mm CPU Cooler or Thermalright Ultra 120
2x Western Digital Caviar Black 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s

Opt 2 - cpu OC to 3ghz and a small GPU OC if possible

Antec 300 Illusion or
Antec 300
NZXT GAMA-001BK
COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus 120mm CPU Cooler or
Thermalright Ultra 120

SILVERSTONE ST50F-ES 500W 80 PLUS Certified or
Antec BP550 Plus 550W Modular

2x Western Digital Caviar Black 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s

I don't intend to sli so would any of these be a better choice: Corsair/Earthwatts/Fortron/Seasonic 400-450W

Please help me decide. Although i'm considering the above options and reading
about these products i have NO experience with PC building so its difficult for me
to evaulate the benifits of the above products combined.
