I have an external 2.5" hdd that is recognized by only one of my 3 PCs.
I have tried going through control panel>admin tools>computer mgt>storage>disk mgt as well as hardware devices route and the PC still cannot see the HDD.

Additionally I have reformatted the external hdd hoping that might but it did not

I have tried other ext hdd's with this PC and it sees them with no problem.

Any ideas as to what the problem may be?? Thanks for your help

you did not provide enough information to diagnose your problem. what operating systems do all the computers have? what filesystem is the hard disk formatted to? what is the make and model of the hard disk. are you using a GPT on the hard disk? if so then only the 64 bit operating systems will be able to read it.

Thanks much for your quick reply....
the 3 pc's all use windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
when formatting the disk I chose the mbr option not the GPT
the disk is a WD Scorpio Blue WD1600BEVT (ATA)

thank you for your help!
