Windows wont complete boot

I get to the final screen where I work BUT there are no icons, no start button, the cursor works as does task manager by pressing alt cntrl del, nothing else. PLEASE help. critical work needs to be done.

its hard to say without seeing your problem, but if required or if long time u didnt format why not reinstall everything once again?

but if you see nothing, when u are at your task manager, go to file, new task, and type explorer.exe and press enter and see if everything loads

AS I recall explorer.exe is loaded, but I can try again. It's all working right now, took much longer than usual.
