I am looking for a new computer, but can not decide which one to get. I did some research, and did not find much and the one I found was really complicated for me to understand, can you please help me decide which computer to get?

I am going to be doing some gaming, mainly starcraft 2 and diablo 3, maybe some mass effects and dawn of discovery.

1)
Intel Core i5 750(2.66GHz)
4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333
500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 7200RPM HDD
NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT 1GB PCI Express Video Card
Power Supply 700W

2)
AMD Phenom II X4 945(3.0GHz)
4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333
500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 7200RPM HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 1GB PCI Express Video Card
Power Supply 420W

This is hilarious. A gaming system with i5 750 plus 9500GT / 945 and GT 220? This is a joke. My 2-core AMD cpu + gtx 260 could do better in games than this.

Both those GPU's are completely useless for gaming. Stay away from them. Get at least a GeForce 250 and up or a Radeon 57xx and up.

Plus on the 1st choice, why throw a 700w PSU on that thing?

Both of them have ~$750 price tag, and you could do a lot better than those by building your own thing. (check the homebuild section of the forum) Gaming systems should include an adequate CPU and a quite powerful GPU. Your i5 won't render the textures for you, it would be the 9500gt.

Both are bad choices. Pick anyone of those and you will regret it.
Go do it yourself and for $750 you will get better specifications which will be more balanced for your need. Do you already have a monitor to use with the new PC? if yes, what resolution is it?

Thanks everyone for the imput, but I really need to make a decision, do not have time to build a machine by myself.

I have a 23 inch monitor, and I use the 1600 resolution mostly.

So can you guys please, if out of the two listed, can tell me which one have the better graphic card and CPU.

Which one would you choose? I am not looking for hardcore gaming either.

Thank you very much.

P.S: I will probably be upgrading the graphic card in the future, but nothing too expensive or crazy. So is the 420 W enough for a mid end graphic card?

I'd get these for less than your systems above,
CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra 2044 Phenom II X4 955(3.2GHz) 4GB DDR3 500GB NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra 2023 Phenom II X2 550(3.1GHz) 4GB DDR3 500GB NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

These 2 systems are cheaper and will let you play the games you listed without giving you laggy framerates that will happen if you go with a 9500GT or GT 220.

Just repeating what everyone said but it's just so you won't say people didn't tell you so... both your first choices (9500 and 220) are compeltely useless. But hey I guess you can still play Diablo 2... Forget Diablo 3, Mass Effect tho if you buy those cards.

Agreed, just ignore our advice and buy either one. Heck, buy BOTH and run them in SLI.
