In about a week from yesterday the cable guy will be at my house to install Cox@home broadband into my new apartment and OMG am I excited! However, I have chosen to use my own Cable Modem rather then rent or buy some piece of junk they try to pawn off on me. So my question is, what makes a good cable modem? Be a 56k'er for the past 6 years, I know nothing about Cable Modems. Infact I know very little about networking. What I need to buy is the best NIC card and a really good Cable Modem. I have 6 days, a pocket full o' cash and no idea where to begin. I need suggestions. That is your mission should you choose to accept it...
Anyways, suggestions would be great, explanations would be marvelous.
