D-Link DNS-320 NAS question

I've been backing up to a directly-attached WD My Book, but I'm thinking about getting an NAS device so I can back up multiple computers without disconnecting/reconnecting the My Book.

The D-Link DNS-320 looks like a reasonable choice, but I have a couple of questions:

My current router is an old Linksys WRT54G, which of course has only a 10/100 Ethernet switch. Do I need to get a new router with a 10/100/1000 in order to get reasonable speeds? I understand that if I try to backup a computer connected by wireless I'm limited to the wireless-G speed.

Can I use Windows 7 Pro built-in backup or do I have to use some proprietary D-Link software to back up my computers? I'm really interested in making system images ... not file backups. As an alternative to Windows Backup, I also already have Acronis True Image Home 2012. Can I use this with the DNS-320?

I see that the DNS-320 only supports up to 2 TB drives. That's good (I think) because from what I've seen, all current drives over 2.1 TB (and maybe some 2 TB drives as well) use the new Advanced Format, which AFAIK is not compatible with Windows 7 System Images. Anyone have any experience/comments on this issue?

On a related topic, any comments on the WD Red drives, like this one (I don't know if this is an Advanced Format driver or not) --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
