Hello,
hi guys in my office there are 30 systems connected in work group.so far they worked well but recently one of our employees formatted the system while giving a name.after that during start up it is showing an error stating that"duplicate name available in the network".so to change the system name i am opening my computer properties.but i am not able to do that.so can any body give me suggestions how to rename the system through command prompt.

I'm not sure why a command line would work. If you can't open your computer properties, it's probably because you don't have administrative privileges. And you still won't have them using the command line.

What version of Windows are we talking about here? Is the problem in opening the computer properties due to lack of privileges?
