Bad video quality

hi i was fine watching dvd movies but suddenly the video quality became very bad....and when there is a black background i see vertical bars in the screen ,tried different codecs ,updates ...but nothing worked.....last try im gonna do is formatting , but any suggestions?

Can't find your monitor and did you update your graphics driver and DVD player firmware. Also does your monitor support digital connection other than VGA, like DVI or HDMI?

yup it supports DVI...tried it but the same

What is your monitor's native resolution? Under ATI Catalyst's Avivo video try to tweak some of the settings and enable the de-interlacing to the max. Also like I asked does the DVD player have better firmware available online?
