Cpus for socket939

Hello,
i have a gigabyte ga-k8nsc-939 mother board with a athlon 64 3000 1.8ghz, what i want to know is, which is the fastest cpu for this motherboard

I don't think there would be any point wasting money on getting the fastest CPU, Socket 939 is dead. If your 3000+ 64 is getting slow I am afraid its time to upgrade.

But for reference the fastest it will support is Athlon 64 x2 4800+, but you'll be hard pushed to fine a new one if at all.

Ebay or other used markets are your only option, they quit making socket 939 processors over 4 years ago. Last time I checked ebay prices(few months ago), some of the socket 939 dual cores are going for more than modern quad core processors.
