I have an Acer TravelMate 650 that I will run on battery if started on AC
then unplugged. If I try to start it on battery it shuts off a second or
two after windows xp starts to load. If I then plug it in to charge the
battery a little and then unplug and power up in "safe mode" it will start
and opperate on battery power. I have to think that it is a setting in XP
that is shutting down when trying to power up on battery, but I can't find
anything. I bought the computer used off of Ebay and the seller stated that
a new battery was needed but it will charge to 100% and last for a
reasonable time when I have used it after starting on AC. Any help?
