Will these cards work with my PSU?

Hey im looking to upgrade my gfx card but i only have a 250w power supply. My pc is a dell inspiron 530s, therefore ill also need a low profile card. My pc config atm is. Intel core2duo E4500 @ 2.20GHz, Ati Radeon 2400hd pro, 1gb ddr2 ram and I also have 6 USB ports and a DVD-RW if that helps.

I've been looking around and have found a few with seem to fit but aren't sure. The 1s ive found are, HD 4670, HD 5570, Geforce 9600gt low power low profile and the Geforce 240gt low profile. So will any of these work? If u can recommend any other gfx cards that will work with my config, it would be appreciated

More about will cards work
  1. Out of those the HD5570 consumes the least power. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5570,2552-12.html
  2. i agree, grab the 5570. It will work well with your 530s. I would also grab another 1GB of RAM.
  3. alright thanks for the help. im also looking to get another 1gb of ram which is a nice coincidence. just wondering would you advise me getting the 512mb or the 1gb version of the 5570?
  4. the 5570 is too slow to use 1GB of RAM, so get whichever is cheaper
  5. my current graphics card has a max power usage of 25 w and from the toms hardware review i can see the 5570 has a max power usage of 53w. So do you think i have 28w spare to run this gpu. its the 250w power supply that was fitted when i bought it from dell. i checked some reviews http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16814131341 and some customers are stating that it works fine on a 220w power supply so i want to know why ati have a recommended power supply of 400w?

both ATI and Nvidia do it, it protects them from crap PSU. PSU recommendations are as accurate as tarot card readers.
