5670 Dual Monitors

Forum Graphics & Displays : AMD Radeon 5670 Dual Monitors

I recently purchased a DVI-I to VGA adapter so I would be able to run a dual monitor setup in Windows 7. Since both monitors are VGA and I have a HD 5670 with VGA/DVI/HDMI, I figured I would just have 1 monitor on VGA, then use the adapter to hookup the 2nd monitor. When plugging in the second monitor and trying to detect it, the display on my first screen went blank and couldn't be recovered unless I did a hard restart.

Trying to use Winkey + P and extending the display caused the same thing. Upon restart, both monitors display the same thing up until the Microsoft Logo and after that both go blank.

In safe mode both work fine, but in display properties, it is only detecting 1 monitor, and they both display the same thing.

Going into my Ubuntu partition, they also both display the same thing and are only detected as 1 display.

I installed ATI Hydravision because I was unaware that was their extra software package for dual monitors but that has done nothing as well.

Any ideas?
