I have two questions:

OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Is this enough to power for:

ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 AMD Motherboard
Item #: N82E16813131651

AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition Heka 2.8GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Processor HDZ720WFK3DGI - OEM
Item #: N82E16819103652

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
Item #: N82E16820231277

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Item #: N82E16822152181

Quite possibly 2 in RAID0

SAPPHIRE 100283L Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
Item #: N82E16814102858

And would a Sonata II, with the power supply replaced with the above, be good enough to house the above (5770,which I read gets quite hot. Currently the Sonata only has the rear fan)?

Well in that case, good choice with the OCZ.

I forgot about the case question. I agree with Lmeow that you will need to add a case fan or two for more airflow. It's not a gaming case but it gets the job done. Just make sure you have more outflow than inflow. If it were me, I'd also cut a hole in the top and install a grill and 120mm top fan.

i finished a build just like yours a coupe of years ago. This is it:
AMD phenom II x4 965 @ 3.4 ghz
GA-MA-790XT-UD4P
4GB Ripjaws G.Skill
500GB seagate HDD
HIS ATI Radeon HD5850 1GB
AreoCool VX-E Pro
i powered this build with an Amacrox Freestyle 500w its been going fine for the past 2 years. i built it for hardcore gaming thats what i have been doing, its held up fine.
