What overclock will I be able to reach with my Vapor-X 5850?

Hello,

I bought a Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon HD 5850. ( Factory OCed to 735-1050 ), and was hoping to reach 5870 speeds. I know this card has a locked voltage, but in the other hand, has good quality components and a good cooling system.

I was hoping to reach 865mhz for core, and 1225mhz for mem, on stock voltage. I will be using Amd Gpu tool, and MSI Afterburner to overclock. Do you guys think it's a reasonable overclock, and can I go higher?

You'll be able to hit 1150 and 850 on the memory and core, at least. I don't think that you'll be able to get into the 9XX/12XX though.

Mine is very stable at 850/1200. I think I can go higher but I'm very satisfied with the performance as it is.

My 5850 does 922/1200 at stock voltage, but thats not to say yours will too, you'll just have to try and see what your card can do.

How many volts is the stock for the Vapor-X?

AMD GPU clock tool gives 1.0880 V as stock. With this voltage and leaving the fan control alone i got 15 mins stable for both Furmark and Unigine heaven 2.0 at 860 engine and 1250 Mem.

Well 865 would be over 5870 speeds. I would be a bit more conservative and not destroy your card.

Destroy the card how exactly...?
The speeds you are aiming for are typically achievable at stock voltage but you never know how far your particular card can go until you try.
