Will I notice a difference between the 700 and 800 series chipsets?

I will be using a dedicated graphics card (no crossfire).

Will there be any big difference now or in the future between a 785G and a 880G or 890GX?

I do have an eyefinity setup and do play games. I'm not a serious hardcore gamer but I want the computer to be able to perform reasonably well.

If you are using a dedicated GPU, there is little difference between the to chipsets outside of SATA III and USB3.0, which may or may not be of an importance to you.

If I was guying, I would go with the 800 series and look at the ASRock 870 Extreme3 for my motherboard.
