Im looking for a good processor for video editing. I'm trying to edit 3-7 minute music videos in full 1080p HD without any lag or freezing during the editing process. I plan on Doing these for sites such as YouTube. I currently use Corel Video Studio Pro for editing. After doin research I see that I should go with the Intel i5 or i7. Can you give me any suggestions, or specs that are important

Pretty sure Corel supports heavy multi-threading (at least the newer versions), in which case a good i7 chip will serve you very very well. These have 8 effective threads (Or more with a 980x) with HyperThreading and come at good clock speeds with plenty of cache.

You'll want a good motherboard for that chip, quick decent capacity ram (i7's and their X58 boards support triple channel modes and DDR3 memory), and a good video card also helps, 'course.
