I have a Biostar TP55 motherboard that I would like to run a Intel G6950 processor in. The manual says that the P55 chipset only supports I5 and i7 CPU. Is there a BIOS update to allow one to run this combo?? I realize that I will have to use a discrete graphics card as the p55 chipset doesn't support the Clarkdale with on chip graphics.

Thanks, Mike

Thanks, I will update the bios and see if that fixes the problem. During Win7 install I have been getting BSODs and haven't been able to get it to work! Mike

You wouldn't even get past post if the cpu was unsupported.
You would get an unsupported cpu error message.
You might have a bad ram stick.
Run Memtest86+ testing each module individually at mobo default settings for the ram.
