Hi

We have 3 new Toshiba Portege M100 laptops running Windows XPsp2

We also have 30+ other laptops (Portege 34xx, 4xxx etc) with no
issues.

Problem:-

Laptop set to monitor.
User takes laptop home - display to LCD
Back in office, docks on port replicator III, and XP starts up on
monitor, then after "flash screen" goes to LCD only. User has to open
laptop, FN-F5, log on. BUT - display is then mirrored between LCD and
monitor @ 60Hz. User has to then go into graphic options to select
monitor only to get 85Hz. (FN-F5 does not rotate to give monitor
only).

Two laptops are on BIOS 1.3, one is on 1.4 (funny - all bought at the
same time!). BIOS 1.4 is not available for Toshiba download and
toshiba tech support have not responded to logged calls.

We've seen http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe [...] 0000003027
- but clearly still have the problem.

Anyone have any better suggestions??!

Thanks

No sound on IBM T40
By snurp85, 1 day ago:

Buried deep within the IBM website there is a page for downloading drivers for the T40. Just download and install the one needed for sound. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/ [...] 6258#audio If you already have the driver installed, then id suggest reinstalling it for good measure. Try going into control panel and opening up the audio panel to make sure it isnt muted
