I removed the hard drive from my 3TB Seagate Expansion external drive, and installed it internally. When installed internally, the drive's partition table appears messed up, showing 349.31 GB RAW and the rest unallocated. If I reinstall it in the external circuitry, it works fine. So my assumption is that the external enclosure has encrypted the partition table?
I know I could just reformat, but the drive is pretty full and I don't have another place to back up the data.
Is it possible to clone the partition table off of the drive when it's in the enclosure, then write this to the drive when installed internally, without damaging data?
