Is alienware really worth its cost or can we build a pc like it in less amount than it?

If you willing to take the time to get ya hands dirty with DIY and research on hardware, etc - hell no!

Yea, if you're willing and able to build one yourself, there's no reason to buy a computer for yourself, especially an alienware.
