Hello, The computer makes to start, and works for two seconds, then cuts out.Sometimes it works for about eight seconds, then cuts out.I have replaced the faulty power supply with a new one. There is only one beep on start up,then it cuts out.The computer has an Asus A7S333 motherboard.

Welcome to Tom's Forum! :)

If your PSU went out it too can take-out anything it's attached to: MOBO, GPU, CPU, etc.

That said, rule-out a short or grounding short. {Lazy-Man's Breadboard}: unscrew all of the MOBO & PCI screws, use 1 stick of RAM and disconnect anything non-essential, dangle the MOBO away from anything conductive {e.g. I/O & standoffs} - support with a towel. Try to start.

BTW - I've seen a shorted USB keyboard/mouse cause a post failure. So if there's a failure then disconnect both and use the power button to start/shut down the PC.

Let us know - Good Luck!
