So I get a bunch of emails for deals and newegg has this drive ...

Hard Drive: Western Digital AV-GP 320GB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.99 @ Newegg)

I bought it because there was a $20 discount. Did I screw-up big?

If so, will I be able to return it for credit because of buyer's remorse? I'm great with the size but the speed was a surprise (I was thinking a variable speed 7200rpm drive but neither newegg or the WD website made this clear).

Damit! Wait, I'm a youngster ... can I say damit

Don't blame newegg because you made an impulse buy instead of researching this hard drive before buying it. Always do your homework before making any buying decision.

Yea you can return it. It looks to be covered by Neweggs standard warranty. Here is the standard warranty : "Standard Return Policy

Return for refund within: 30 days
Return for replacement within: 30 days
Restocking Fee: Yes"

That speed is slow.

newegg will charge a restocking fee (not sure how much) if you return it. Contact newegg and see how much the restocking fee will be.

What do you plan to use the drive for? Storing files? Windows boot disk?
