VGA to DVI to HDMI - How can I make this possible?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200-AH7 Laptop that has one VGA output. No DVI interface is available on it.
What I'm trying to do is get the HD picture quality from my laptop to display on the HDTV VIA the HDMI input.

Can I do this, VGA -> DVI -> HDMI?
Is there some type of converter that converts Analog to Digital so I can recieve my HD feed at my HDTV?

Yes, but the converter will need to actively process the analog signal from your VGA source and output a digital signal. You'll probably get different quality in that process depending on the converter you choose.

Other limitations might apply, like DRM content, so you might want to search this before plunk the money.
