MSI K9A Platinum vs AM2 Phenom

Hi all,
Thanks to any of you who can tell me if the mobo MSI K9A Platinum is/is not compatible with AM2 Phenom Quad 9500-9600-9700 series as I intend to buy these 2 to upgrade my old PC components

Based on the information on the MSI website, no Phenom is compatible with your motherboard... http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=prodcpu2&prod_no=259&maincat_no=1

It looks like only AM2 CPU's (AMD® Athlon 64 X2, Athlon 64, Athlon FX and Sempron) work and not AM2+ or AM3 CPU's
