cannot delete or move 2 canon mp navigator ex3.0 files from my desktop. error

Hello,
I have 2 empty file folders on my desktop from the canon printer mp navigator ex 3.0. They were mistakenly created, but now I still cannot get rid of them. They cannot be moved or deleted and I have tried everything I can think of. The original file is intact and works just fine. I have uninstalled the product and reinstalled it and even that didn't work. The error message reads Access denied. Check to see that the file is not write protected, or that the disk is full. I have no idea how to proceed and I wish them gone.   Many thanks in advance for any help.
