Hi I'm thinking about building a new PC but I'm kind of confused about "HyperTransport" (i've never dealt with AMD but their prices now for their budget processors are very nice)

Anyways, this motherboard:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186189

is listed for 1000MHz HT while the processors i'm looking at are rated at 4000MHz HT

Would this put a significant damper on performance?

Thanks for the help!

Yes it would, and to be honest that motherboard is craptastic. I hear if you buy it there is a 10 in 400,000 chance you'll kill yourself.

Whats your budget for a motherboard? Or whats your overall budget? I'm sure we can find something much better than suits you.

lol well dang (thanks, but can you explain why it's bad?)

my overall budget is around $400-500 just for the parts (no monitor/keyboard/mouse, etc.)

I've already bought a Radeon HD 4650 512MB 128-bit DDR3 for around $38

and this case when it was $20.99

I'm just trying to build a decent budget gaming PC

the monitor i'll be using only has a max resolution of 1366 x 756 (and I always lower most textures just because it's easier on my eyes that way) so i don't think i'll need much to get a decent frame rate

let me hear what you think

Thank you!

thanks for the suggestions!

and sorry for not listing the CPU

i'm thinking about the athlon ii x2 240 or athlon ii x3 425 (since there's not a lot of difference between them)
