ASUS M4A79XTD EVO or ASRock 870 EXTREME3

which mobo is better??? the ASRock 870 EXTREME3, or the ASUS M4A79XTD EVO

  1. I'd go with the ASRock.The ASRock has SATA II and a stronger NB than the Asus.The Asus only has SATA I.But the Asus naturally supports 1600mhz RAM.

    Which RAM are you going to use for it?

    My mistake.I just researched and found out that 6gbps is the new SATA III.And 3gbps is the old SATA II.So the ASrock has the new SATA while the Asus has the old version.I'd recomend getting the Asus version for the 1600mhz RAM.Their isn't a huge difference bettwen the SATA's and SATA III technology was just released last month so not a whole lot of stuff is out yet anyway.
  4. Both are good, the Asrock (who was bought by Asus BTW) has only 1 year warranty but some new features, better sound and solid caps. On both boards the RAM will work at 1333 unless you OC it but there's no noticeable difference between 1333 and 1600.
