PC freezes and hangs before BIOS

I recently upgraded my pc by adding a 2TB HDD, logitech wave k&m and a 24" monitor. It was running fine for about 2 weeks until it started freezing ALOT and hangs before bios starts. Especially when I restart my computer or press the reset button. The only way to fix it is to turn it off completely, wait a second after everything's stopped spinning and turn it back on.

I've updated my chipset drivers to run the new HDD and have also updated the sata controllers. I've also restored my computer to a few days before the problem started and that hasn't fixed it either.
Have considered updating BIOS (would like to avoid it) as it was hanging before BIOS even started but the flash tools from ASUS aren't 64-bit compatible.

My system:

Vista 64-bit SP2

Intel Q8200 2.33GHz
ASUS P5N-E SLi
4GB DDR2 RAM (running at 400MHz apparently?) should be 800Mhz
Seagate 500GB HDD 32mb cache
Seagate 500GB HDD 16mb cache
WD 2TB HDD 64mb cache (new)
Gigabyte 9600GT 1GB GPU
MSI tv-tuner

19" Asus vw192T
24" Acer x243H

Intermitten problems are tough to diagnose. I would check your power supply first. Then strip it down to bare minimum and add one device at a time. You may also want to run memtest.
