I use Windows Explorer a lot, and the IT guy at work set my computer up so that it opened on start up. Now I'm retired and would like know how to set my home computer (also XP) so that when I start up the computer Windows Explorer opens, showing the folders listed down the left side.

create a shortcut to C:\Windows\explorer.exe and place it into the Startup folder of your user directory C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
