hello,
I have a notebook with centrino processor (Olidata Tehom c2000).
Its SpeedStep function has been working for months, but now the cpu
works always at full speed, both with battery and AC power.
I have windows xp, so I can't reinstall the driver because xp has it
integrated.
All diagnostic programs I tried recognise the Pentium M cpu with
SpeedStep function.
My BIOS settings allow just to enable or disable geyserville
technology, without any other setting. If I disable it, the cpu works
always at 600MHz, if I enable it, the cpu works always at 1300MHz,
and the fan keeps on activating and deactivating: it's very noising
and annoying, and I fear it can get broken soon. And of course the
full speed shortens battery length.
I don't know what I may have disabled or installed to lose the
SpeedStep
function.
