How to tell if BIOS upgrade worked?

I just upgraded the BIOS on my Asus P8P67 mobo. How do I tell if the BIOS upgrade worked? Just start up Windows?

Your new bios version will be displayed on the post screen, usually at the top. If you get the company logo at post, change the setting in the bios to disabled to get your system info displayed instead.

Are you referring to the success of the BIOS flash or are you referring to a problem being resolved because of the later BIOS version?

Since so many BIOS' flash by pretty quick, you can also download CPUz and it will display the bios firmware version on the Mainboard tab.

I have no idea why you flashed the bios in the first place. I'm just informing you that the new bios file is displayed after a successful flash. You may not notice any difference in system performance.

Thanks for the replies, but I should have been more specific:

I upgraded my BIOS to the latest official version, since it was a new motherboard and the BIOS that came on it was very old. I have verified in the BIOS screen that it upgraded to the correct version. Is there some other check to make sure everything went fine with the BIOS upgrade? Or does booting into Windows indicate that the PC is fine?

You won't know how the new bios affected windows until you run it. Many bios updates cover just one or two problems. Some just cover newer cpus. If the pc posts, then the flash was successful. Often the bios updates don't effect windows; many folks have the false impression that you need to flash the bios to run windows 7, which isn't true.
