Down load from Amazon cloud

I downloaded mp3 files from music I purchased on Amazon. They have an amz extension and won't work in my Windows media player, which according to the Amazon site they should. Any ideas on how to convert them would be helpful.

  1. I haven't downloaded any music from amazon in a while, but mine clearly downloaded .mp3 files, not with a .amz extension. The .amz extension is not one recognized by windows by default. You would need to install software to register this data type or register the type manually, but having a .amz extension just sounds plain wrong. Try downloading the songs again or contact amazon support for help.
  2. You have to download the amazon mp3 downloader then run the amz file through that to get the mp3 file. it should prompt you to run it through that when you download an mp3.
